Kayak Canoe Club “Vrbas” from Banjaluka has been a host for a long time and a successful organizer of the National and International canoe competitions in Slalom and Wildwater canoeing disciplines, of which we mark:

We have a natural course in a canyon of the Vrbas river which is equipped with the most modern lighting for night races and platforms which can accept about 1500 spectators and there is our plan to widen our platform and increase capacities o f sitting places on the course.
There is a regulation hydropowerplant, 15 kilometers far, with which we have a great co-operation and this way an excellent control of water level on the competition course.
The canoe course is by the Road M16 Banjaluka-Jajce and it is about 12 kilometers far from Banjaluka. In the period of the competitions, with the co-operation of the city authorities, it is closed and it will be used the round road Banjaluka-Cadjavica-Mrkonjic Grad.
About Course
Vrbas river is mountain river with a several wild sections and fast rapids. Vrbas river consists of two canyons, a canyon Tijesno (5 km) on which is a canoe course and a canyon Podmilacje (8 km). International qualification of the difficulty of the flowing in the canyon Tijesno is III and IV degree of wildwater and depending on a water level. Water level is from 25-120 m3 and in the spring even to 500m3 .
Water temperature in the summer is above 17 C and air temperature is above 30 C degrees. Wildwater canoeing sprint course length is flexible and it can be used up to 800 m according to needs and it is part of the wildwater canoeing classic course 5 kilometers long. It is approachable with many ways and steps and it is secured with two electrical gates for dragging out in the case of accidents and injures.
There is an ambulance close to the course, about 2 kilometers far.

City of Banja Luka
Banja Luka is the second largest city in Bosnia-Herzegovina and it is a cultural, financial, and political and university center of Republic of Srpska (one of 2 entities - states - in Bosnia and Herzegovina). It is situated in the north-west part of the Republic, in the ravine, on the transit between Dinaric Alps in the south and Pannonian Basin in the north.
Main city river is: Vrbas which flows through the city center. The city has a medium continental climate, with the prevailing influence of Pannonian region.

City Transportation
Basic public transportation is city and outskirts buses. A bus ticket is paid by a ride and it cost: 1.80KM for the city and 1.80 to 2.80KM for outskirts transportation depending on the lenght of the ride. A ticket can be bought from the bus driver in the bus. There is no need to punch in the ticket but you should save it and show if to a conductor if he asks for it.
Parking
In Banjaluka there are about 2672 parking places arranged on 41 parking locations divided in 3 zones: 0, I and II. Parking price for an hour is 1KM, all day parking ticket is 5KM while price for one hour in zone II is 0,5KM and all day ticket is 3KM.
Accommodation
There are lots of hotels, rooms and private accommodation with total capacity of: 1600 beds. Also, there is a camp site in Krupa na Vrbasu which is 25km far from the city center and 13km from canoe course. The camp was built few years ago specificaly for world rafting championship and is equipped with high quality showers and toilets, parking and football court with artificial grass field. The camp is on the bank of the Vrbas river and on the mouth of Krupica river. It has capacity of about 500 guests and it cover aroung 2500 square meters. Prices in private accommodation range from 35 to 90EUR. Hostel prices range from 11 to 15EUR per night. The camp on Krupa na Vrbasu is free and it is available for all guests from participating national teams.
